Gig Overview:
Roku is activating at Texas A&M University for Aggie Fest during Howdy Week, and we're seeking an experienced, confident Team Lead to oversee our Brand Ambassador team and keep the activation running smoothly from setup through breakdown. This opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in live event environments, leads by example, and knows how to keep a team motivated, polished, and on task.
The Team Lead will act as both a hands-on Brand Ambassador and the on-site leader for the activation. You'll perform all standard BA duties while coordinating the team, serving as the on-site point of contact, and owning the equipment logistics for this gig. This includes receiving the event items ahead of time, transporting them to and from the activation, and returning them via FedEx drop off after the event.
Because you'll be transporting the tent, table cloth, retractable banner, and prize wheel, this opportunity requires access to a vehicle large enough to carry all of the equipment. Strong communication, problem-solving, and organization are a must.

Team Lead Scope
Team Leadership and Coordination
You'll check in all Brand Ambassadors upon arrival and ensure the full team is present, on time, and properly dressed. You'll lead the setup of the activation space during the first hour, then lead by example by actively performing Brand Ambassador duties while keeping the team engaged, professional, and on task. You'll enforce event professionalism standards, including no phones out, polished appearance, and a positive attitude, and coordinate breaks as needed to maintain full coverage.
Client and On-Site Communication
You'll serve as the on-site point of contact, communicating updates, needs, or issues clearly and professionally. You'll resolve smaller issues independently and escalate any major concerns appropriately to keep the activation on track.
Activation Oversight
You'll ensure the activation footprint is fully operational and running smoothly during the live event from 6:00PM to 8:00PM, troubleshooting any issues with staffing, guest flow, or activation elements. You'll monitor student engagement to help maximize participation, then lead the team through breakdown and repacking everything for return shipping at the end of the night.
Equipment and Shipping Logistics
Ahead of the event, you'll receive the event items (tent, table cloth, retractable banner, and prize wheel) and transport them to the activation. After breakdown, you'll pack everything for return shipping and, on the morning of August 21, transport the items to a FedEx location for drop off. A vehicle large enough to transport all of the equipment is required for this gig.
Brand Ambassador Duties
In addition to your leadership scope, you'll engage students, educate them on Roku's Howdy streaming service, drive participation at the prize wheel and interactive elements, answer questions, and help create a high-energy, welcoming environment for every Aggie who stops by.
