Job Overview: We are seeking two outgoing and dependable Brand Ambassadors to represent the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) at a high-visibility press conference launching their 2025 SPEED Campaign in Austin, TX. This role requires individuals who are confident communicators and highly engaging, as they will be interacting with media, local officials, and community members during this impactful road safety initiative. In 2024, speed-related crashes led to hundreds of fatalities and serious injuries on Texas highways. To help reduce this number, TxDOT is launching the SPEED Campaign – a summer road safety awareness initiative designed to engage travelers at Buc-ee’s locations across the state. This interactive, carnival-themed experience features games, quizzes, and virtual reality elements, reminding motorists to drive smart and slow down. Event Location: Austin, Texas Event Address: Palmer Events Center Date & Time: July 16, 09:30AM - 11:30AM Pay: $28.00/hr Key Responsibilities: Warmly welcome and engage media guests, local officials, and attendees around the SPEED Road Show trailer Demonstrate campaign elements such as games, iPad quizzes, and VR experiences in a clear and informative manner Communicate TxDOT’s road safety messaging with confidence and professionalism Support the Outreach Manager by tracking basic interaction counts and assisting with any data collection as needed Maintain a polished, energetic presence throughout the event, representing TxDOT’s mission effectively Help create a positive, engaging, and informative environment aligned with the campaign’s public safety goals Requirements: Outgoing personality with excellent communication skills Ability to stand outdoors and remain actively engaged for a 4-hour shift Reliable transportation to Buc-ee’s locations across Texas Comfortable using an iPad and basic technology Prior promotional, event, or outreach experience is a plus Passion for community involvement and public safety is a big bonus Attire: Must wear campaign t-shirt (provided) and bring black long shorts and comfortable shoes
