We are seeking an experienced, confident, and highly organized Team Lead to oversee the Big 12 College Basketball Championship Fan Fest during the Men’s and Women’s tournaments. This role is critical to the success of the activation and serves as the primary on-site leader for our Brand Ambassador team. The Team Lead will manage a team of nine Brand Ambassadors, act as the direct point of contact for the client and production partners, and ensure the Fan Fest runs smoothly from start to finish each day. This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and requires someone who can lead with calm authority, think quickly under pressure, and jump in wherever needed to keep the experience seamless for fans and stakeholders alike. The Fan Fest transforms Grand Boulevard outside the T-Mobile Center into “Big 12 Boulevard,” an immersive fan experience filled with interactive storefronts, games, photo moments, and a sport court. Thousands of fans pass through the footprint ahead of each game, creating a high-energy, high-visibility environment. As Team Lead, you are the operational backbone of the experience. You’ll oversee staffing flow, troubleshoot issues in real time, maintain communication with the client and production team, and ensure every station is staffed, supported, and operating at a high level throughout the activation. Core Responsibilities Team Leadership & Staff Management Serve as the on-site leader for a team of nine Brand Ambassadors Check in all staff upon arrival and ensure everyone is in proper uniform and ready for their assignment Conduct brief pre-event huddles to review expectations, station assignments, and key talking points Manage staff breaks efficiently to maintain full coverage across all stations Float throughout the footprint to check in with each BA, offer support, and ensure consistency in execution Step into any Brand Ambassador role as needed to cover breaks, absences, or high-traffic moments Client & Production Liaison Act as the primary point of contact for the client and production partners on site Communicate updates, needs, or changes clearly and professionally Address client questions or concerns promptly and with a solutions-oriented mindset Escalate issues appropriately while maintaining a calm and confident presence Operational Oversight & Troubleshooting Monitor all stations to ensure games, photo moments, and storefronts are operating correctly Troubleshoot issues related to staff performance, guest flow, equipment, or fan behavior Anticipate potential challenges during peak traffic times and proactively adjust staffing or flow Ensure all assets, giveaways, and equipment are accounted for and used properly Fan Experience & Brand Standards Ensure all staff are delivering a welcoming, engaging, and on-brand guest experience Reinforce professionalism, positivity, and guest-first behavior across the team Step in to support fan interactions during high-volume periods Address any safety concerns, disorderly behavior, or guest issues swiftly and professionally Setup, Breakdown & Daily Reset Support pre-event setup and final walkthroughs Ensure all stations are “show ready” before doors open Lead and assist with end-of-day breakdown, cleanup, and organization Confirm assets are reset and prepared for the following activation day Professional Expectations Be punctual, proactive, and prepared for long, high-energy event days Maintain a visible leadership presence throughout the footprint Communicate clearly, respectfully, and confidently with staff and clients Remain flexible and solution-oriented in a dynamic event environment Uphold all brand standards while representing the Big 12 with professionalism and enthusiasm Ideal Candidate Profile Proven experience as a Team Lead, Event Manager, or Senior Brand Ambassador Strong leadership and people-management skills Comfortable managing multiple moving parts simultaneously Calm under pressure and confident making real-time decisions Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities Experience working live events, fan festivals, or large-scale activations preferred Ability to step into hands-on roles without hesitation Why This Role Is Special This role puts you at the center of one of college basketball’s most exciting championship events.
