Position Summary
We are an established boutique online wine club based in Washington, D.C., launching a new series of high-converting weekday lobby tasting pop-ups starting this September.
We are seeking a reliable, articulate, and sales-driven Brand Ambassador to run 5–7 PM wine tasting events at luxury residential buildings across the DMV area. Your primary mission is to offer wine samples, guide residents through our fun 8-question digital palate quiz on an iPad, and convert them into monthly subscribers.
Because our founder travels frequently, we need someone mature, punctual, and highly self-motivated who thrives in an independent, performance-rewarded role.
Key Responsibilities
Drive Subscriber Signups: Engage residents coming home from work, guide them through our 3-step digital checkout (Palate Quiz → Tier Selection → Charity Partner Choice), and close sales on an iPad.
Location: Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area (Luxury Apartment Lobbies & Partner Venues)
Host Weekday Lobby Pop-Ups: Deliver warm, approachable hospitality at luxury apartment buildings (primarily Tuesday–Thursday, 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM). The majority of apartment buildings are in D.C.
Manage Logistics: Pickup/transport wine, pouring gear, and popup signage; manage setup and breakdown independently.
Accountability: Maintain accurate bottle/inventory counts and submit digital event recaps after each shift.
Schedule & Timeline
Start Date: Mid-to-Late September 2026 (Paid onboarding and a shadow event with the founder will take place during the first week of September).
Schedule: Part-time, 2 to 4 weekday shifts per week (~3 to 4 hours per event day including setup/breakdown, primarily 4:30 PM – 7:30 PM).
Role Requirements
Personal Vehicle Required: Must own a reliable car to transport wine cases, ice buckets, and display materials to venues.
Age: Must be 21+ years old.
Sales & Performance Driven: Proven track record in direct sales, event marketing, or high-end hospitality. You love closing deals and earning bonuses.
Reliability & Maturity: Exceptional track record of working independently without direct supervision; flawless punctuality.
Wine Interest: Genuine passion for wine and social causes (WSET/Sommelier experience is a bonus, but engaging storytelling and closing skills matter most).
Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to 35 lbs (cases of wine/equipment) and stand during event hours.
Perks & Compensation
Base + Uncapped Commission: Guaranteed $18–$20/hr base pay + $10–$15 for every new subscriber you sign up.
Flexible Weekday Schedule: Keep your weekends completely free!
Product Perks: Complimentary wine samples and generous internal staff discounts.
Position Classification & Logistics
1099 Independent Contractor: This is an independent contractor position. Contractors are responsible for their own tax withholdings (Form 1099 issued at year-end).
Project-Based Work: Shifts are scheduled per event (typically 3 to 3.5 hours per event block including transport, setup, sampling, and breakdown).
Supplies Provided: Tasting inventory, promotional signage, and event iPads are provided for each contracted event.
