Event Sales Representative – Poughkeepsie Holiday Craft Fair / Greek Fest Poughkeepsie, New York | October 24–25, 2026 Saturday: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM Sunday: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM INDOOR EVENT $25/hour OR 25% of Gross Event Sales — Whichever Is Greater Laura’s Raw Honey is a third-generation family beekeeping business looking for an energetic, outgoing, and dependable Sales Representative to represent our company at the Poughkeepsie Holiday Craft Fair / Greek Fest in Poughkeepsie, New York, October 24–25, 2026. The representative will be responsible for picking up the booth equipment and honey inventory from our storage unit in Kingston, NY, transporting everything to Poughkeepsie, and returning the remaining inventory and equipment to the Kingston storage unit after the event. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys meeting people, loves artisan products, and wants to earn excellent pay while working some of the best festivals and events in the Northeast. This position also offers opportunities for recurring weekend work at festivals throughout New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, and Virginia. Training Training will be completed directly with Laura, the owner of Laura’s Raw Honey, by phone, along with Google Docs covering everything you need to know before working the event independently. Training includes: - Our complete product line - How to sell premium raw honey - Sampling procedures - Customer interaction and sales techniques - How to maximize sales - Square credit card processing - Inventory procedures - Booth setup and breakdown - Health department standards - Our family beekeeping story - Everything you need to confidently run your own booth You will be expected to review and study the Google Docs before the event and be comfortable with our products and sales process. Compensation You’ll earn the greater of: $25.00 per hour OR 25% of your gross event sales You do not receive both. Paid every Friday as a 1099 Independent Contractor through Gusto. Approved gas expenses for event travel are reimbursed. Hotel accommodations are provided when necessary for events approximately 90 minutes or more from your home. We Provide Laura’s Raw Honey provides: - Products and honey inventory - Folding tables - Tablecloths - Displays and decorations - Samples and sampling supplies - Square payment equipment - Bags and necessary booth supplies - Ongoing support This is an indoor event, so no canopy tent or tent weights are required. Responsibilities You’ll be responsible for: - Picking up inventory and booth supplies from our Kingston, NY storage unit - Transporting everything to Poughkeepsie - Setting up and breaking down the indoor booth - Selling premium raw honey and specialty honey products - Greeting and actively engaging customers - Offering samples and explaining our honey varieties - Processing Square transactions - Recording cash sales accurately - Completing inventory counts before and after the event - Tracking any new sample jars opened during the show - Keeping the booth stocked, clean, and organized - Returning equipment and remaining inventory to our Kingston, NY storage unit after the event We’re Looking For Someone Who - Loves talking with people - Has an outgoing personality - Enjoys sales - Is dependable and punctual - Has a positive attitude - Works well independently - Pays attention to detail - Is comfortable running a booth independently - Is comfortable standing and actively selling throughout the event - Wants recurring weekend work Previous experience with festivals, craft shows, farmers markets, specialty food, retail sales, or trade shows is highly preferred, but personality, dependability, and enthusiasm matter just as much. Vehicle Requirements Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and be comfortable transporting booth equipment and inventory. You should have enough room to transport approximately: - 25–30 cases of honey - Folding tables - Displays and decorations - Sampling supplies - Other booth supplies We’ve successfully transported a complete booth setup in a Toyota Prius with the rear seats folded down, so an SUV or truck is not required. Professional Expectations This is an active, standing sales position requiring consistent customer engagement throughout the event. While representing Laura’s Raw Honey, representatives are expected to: - Remain standing and actively engaged during show hours - Smile and greet customers as they approach the booth - Initiate conversations and actively sell - Offer samples and explain our different honey varieties - Stay attentive to customers throughout the event - Keep the booth clean, stocked, and organized - Learn our products and family beekeeping story - Provide outstanding customer service - Arrive on time and remain for the entire scheduled shift Chairs are not permitted in the booth for sitting during show hours. This is a standing sales event, and representatives are expected to remain actively engaged with customers. Personal phone use during show hours is not permitted except for Square transactions, business communication, or emergencies. Smoking, vaping, alcohol, or drug use while working is strictly prohibited.
