Event Sales Representative – AppleUmpkin Festival September 26–27, 2026 Paid Training Included Laura's Raw Honey is a third-generation family beekeeping business looking for an enthusiastic, outgoing, and dependable Sales Representative to represent our company at the AppleUmpkin Festival, September 26–27, 2026. This is a great opportunity to work a popular fall festival while representing a family-owned business that produces premium raw honey and handcrafted beeswax products. This isn't just a one-show opportunity. We're building a team of professional event sales representatives throughout: * Pennsylvania * New Jersey * Maryland * Virginia * Massachusetts * Connecticut * Hudson Valley, New York * Upstate New York If you're a great fit, you'll have opportunities to work festivals, markets, and specialty events nearly every weekend throughout the season. PAID TRAINING Before working independently, you'll spend one full paid training day with Laura, owner of Laura's Raw Honey, at the Dutchess County Fair in Rhinebeck, NY, between August 25–30, 2026. You'll work side-by-side with Laura and learn: * Product knowledge * How to confidently sell premium raw honey * Customer engagement and sales techniques * Sampling procedures * Square payment processing * Inventory management * Booth setup and teardown * Health department regulations * Everything needed to successfully run your own booth Training is paid at $25.00 per hour. Please note: * Transportation to and from training is your responsibility. * Hotel accommodations are not provided for training. * Once assigned to work events independently, Laura's Raw Honey provides a prepaid fuel card for each event and hotel accommodations when an event is more than 90 minutes from your home. COMPENSATION You'll earn whichever is greater: $25.00 per hour OR 20% of your gross event sales Paid every Friday as a 1099 Independent Contractor. Top-performing representatives can earn well above the hourly rate through commission. WHAT WE PROVIDE For assigned events, we provide: * One prepaid fuel card for each event * Hotel accommodations when required (over 90 minutes from home) * Hotels booked and paid for by Laura's Raw Honey * Products * 10x10 booth * Tent * Tables * Displays * Samples * Marketing materials * Ongoing support YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES * Picking up booth inventory and equipment from our storage unit * Transporting everything to the event * Setting up the booth before opening * Selling premium raw honey and beeswax products * Greeting every customer with enthusiasm * Offering samples * Sharing our family beekeeping story with customers * Processing Square credit card transactions * Recording all cash sales accurately * Completing inventory counts before and after the event * Breaking down the booth after the festival * Returning inventory and equipment to storage WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO * Loves talking with people * Has an outgoing and energetic personality * Is comfortable approaching customers * Enjoys selling * Is dependable and punctual * Can work independently * Pays close attention to detail * Has excellent customer service skills * Wants recurring weekend work Experience in the following is preferred, but we're willing to train the right person: * Festivals * Farmers markets * Craft shows * Food festivals * Retail sales * Specialty food sales * Trade shows * Vendor events VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS You must have a reliable vehicle capable of transporting: * Approximately 40 cases of honey * 10' x 10' canopy * Two folding tables * Display equipment * Decorations * Sampling supplies We've successfully transported a complete booth setup in a Toyota Prius with the rear seats folded down. PROFESSIONAL EXPECTATIONS Our customers expect exceptional service, and so do we. Representatives are expected to: * Smile and greet every customer * Stay engaged throughout the entire event * Actively offer samples to shoppers * Learn our products and family beekeeping story * Keep the booth clean, stocked, and organized * Deliver an outstanding customer experience Personal phone use is not permitted during show hours except for Square transactions, business communication, or emergencies. No personal texting or social media during event hours. Smoking, vaping, alcohol, or drug use while working is strictly prohibited. Representatives are expected to remain engaged in the booth throughout event hours except for brief restroom breaks.
