We are a public art company based out of Austin, TX. We are looking for individuals with experience in general workshop tasks and, ideally, painting. You will work under the direction of out Technical Director to assist in the construction of an upcoming art installation. Tasks may include, but are not limited to: painting, priming, sanding, construction with the use of basic tools (both hand tools and electric), assembly, sealing, and cleaning. Once assembled, the parts of this art piece will weigh anywhere from 75 - 200 lbs. With the weight and dimensions of the piece, moving it will require multiple people. This is primarily a manual labor gig. The location is our warehouse in North Austin (general area: intersection of I-35 and US-183). While the warehouse is properly ventilated, it is not climate controlled, ie, it will be quite warm. We encourage the use of work-safe clothing such as steel-toe shoes and gloves, but these are not mandatory. We also strongly encourage best safety practices for the work environment, such as proper hydration and intermittent breaks as needed. This gig is for August 19 - 22 with the possibility of an additional day on Monday, August 25.
Payment details: you will be given a W9 to fill out as well as a contractor template invoice. Payment will be made within 30 days of the submission of both of these forms.
