We are looking for a mascot handler to escort Travelodge’s Sleepy Bear at the Wyndham Global Conference. The mascot handler must be high energy, playful, and friendly.

Location: Las Vegas, NV
Important Dates: May 18 rehearsal; May 20-21 Trade show
Rate: $ 25.00/hour
Description: As the Sleepy Bear mascot handler, you will act as the “eyes, ears’ and mouth” for the mascot. You will be responsible for keeping the mascot safe while encouraging attendees to engage with the mascot. If you have an outgoing personality and can keep your energy levels high then we’d love to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
Escort and protect Sleepy Bear mascot during guest interactions
Engage with mascot through non-verbal communication
Serve as a guide “eyes, ears, and mouth” of the mascot while in public. Remember to be friendly and playful while always being professional
Anticipate the needs of the mascot and take proactive approach to problem solving
Initiate interaction and greet guests at the convention
Display enthusiasm and high energy at all times to keep the entertainment level high
Keep track of time to ensure mascot receives breaks
Responsible for delivering exceptional customer service
Assist guests with any photo opportunities
Work well in team environments
All other assigned duties
Experience/Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Must have a positive, outgoing, energetic demeanor and able to maintain a good attitude
Must be comfortable working in an immersive environment with music, flashing lights, and special effects
Care for mascot costume and accessories when possessing it
Mascot/costumed character handler experience is a must
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Comfortable interacting with guests as the first point of contact at the event
Awareness of guest interaction, safety, and overall guest experience
Must be over the age of 18 years
Must wear
