This morning I arrived onsite to find out the manager booked my referral and I as Backups when we applied specifically to work the event as a BA's, not Backups. We were coming for North Jersey it was a waste total of time, toll and gas.
Showed up 40 min early and had a 30 min ute. Sent home without pay because my black gym shoes had white soles...
Received a ton of onboarding/payroll emails (even after I'd completed paperwork.) Job notification and website setup seems a bit dated, however, pretty straightforward.
The worst agency I have ever dealt with in my life. They are removing people and changing shift times late at night (without notice), not fairly rotating BA’s between sitting and standing positions, and not abiding CA labor laws for breaks.
Onsite management changed the address an hour before the start time which forced everyone to travel an extra 20 mins. Management was also upset with people showing up 20 mins late.
Pay rate for events are pretty laughable. 15/hour? This would have been ok maybe 6 years ago, if that. 20/hour should be the min after all the work that is done at events. Managers/Team Leads have power trips it's hilarious.
